51 YEARS, 51 STENCILS, 51 TRACES…
oktowallz opens December with the raw sincerity of the streets. Between December 4–20, 2025, “51”, a solo exhibition by Street Art LAN—one of the most familiar yet often unseen signatures of Istanbul’s streets—meets the audience at our temporary space in İMÇ.
By day, LAN works as a designer, art historian, painter, and illustrator; by night, he roams the streets with spray paint and stencils. For nearly fifteen years, he has been whispering his concerns onto Istanbul’s walls through irony. From forced migration to political hatred, from social polarization to the fragility of belief, LAN addresses pressing issues with sharp humor and deep sincerity, drawing references from literature and football. His works centered around the theme of “morale” form the most human connection he establishes with the street.
Despite his greying beard and the familiar reproaches from those around him—“aren’t you too old to still be doing this?”—LAN’s uncomfortable and illegal curiosity has never slowed down. Because what truly defines him is precisely this openness he refuses to hide: sincerity.
“I’m here… and I’ll keep telling my story.
You can look if you want, or keep walking if you don’t,
but what I whisper to the walls is far from over…”
Street Art LAN
“51” brings together 51 different stencil works that the artist has realized on the streets over the years, for the first time in a single exhibition. LAN’s productions—sometimes making you smile, sometimes touching a wound, sometimes lifting morale—can now be experienced together, under one roof, as a whole.
